"Wet" Primer Sealant?
I went shooting for the first time with my new PPQ this last Friday and I noticed something real odd.
I was shooting some 6 month old S&B 9mm 115gr FMJ's, the ones with the "red" sealed primers. When I was done shooting I looked at my left thumb and noticed a big red spot on it. I didn't remember getting pinched or anything like that but I figured such is life. When I got home and broke the PPQ down I noticed Red "Stains", in the shape of a perfect 9MM casing sized circle on what I would call the "Breach Face"(The portion of the slide where the firing pin pokes out). They wiped right off, but I have never had an issue with "wet" primer-sealant before. The fact I had some on my thumb before breaking it down in my mind means this was not a result of the gun being hot or anything like that. I have shot S&B 9MM out of all sorts of different pistols over the years and never had this happen. Is this something I should worry about?
