Ruger LCP on one nighstand and an 1858 with a 6" barrel on the other.

I'd keep the 12 gauge but then I'd need a bigger nightstand

Felt compelled to say something about the whole minors having access. I was taught about guns since I was a wee girl so guns on the nightstand have always been a feature in my life.

If you don't teach your kids about guns and something bad happens then it is your own fault and I don't see what business the state has that could be worse than a parent being careless enough to have their child hurt themselves.

To the point the OP was after . . . .

Not on my night stand but in a quick access safe in my bedroom is a Beretta 92fs with one in the pipe and 18 (yes 18) in the mag.

My other HD guns are also in a quick access safes elsewhere in the house. They are a Sig p238 and a Bersa 380 Thunder CC. Both of those guns also serve as cc.

Life is good.

A Sig P226 Mk25 with a light on the rail...land a cell phone >>my side.

Mrs. Rod has a Glock 23, and a variety of "products" as she calls her nightly ablutions.

A Beretta M9A3 within the pistol safe in the closet. If I don't put away the EDC, it will reside on the night-stand (currently a Beretta 85FS).

No-one can break into the house quickly or quietly enough to require night-stand access.

Well my night stand recently got updated. It now bears a flash light, whatever knife I'm carrying that day, and a GP100 4" loaded with Remington 158 grn JHPs and a speed loader.

Seems the Berettas have a following for nightstand duty. Here is mine:

It is a Beretta 92A1 with one in the pipe and 20 (yes 20) in the magazine. I use Speer Gold Dot 124 grain standard pressures. Night sights, a flashlight, and other custom touches make this perfect for the job.

I have the same stuff I carry most of the time; an SR9c with 10+1 and an extra magazine, a good flashlight and folding knife, a small pepper spray, keys, wallet, and a cellphone. A Leatherman tool and a good headlight also lives there along with my eyeglasses in a case. Everything is always in the same place so I can find what I want without fumbling around.

18" x 14". While I'm happy with a compact pistol, I prefer a full sized night stand! You never know when the extra capacity will be needed...

What is on my nightstand? Whatever the cat allows to remain there. He likes to sleep on the nightstand, an will knock anything that is not comfortable to lie on down.

I keep an old 28" SxS shotgun under the bed and a box of bird shot in the drawer just under the cat.

Mossy 500 with 00 Buck is numero uno, but it is supported by a Beretta 92FS Italia (18 rd mag) and a stout flashlight.

Various, but right now it's a Ruger Speed Six .357 with a 2 3/4 inch barrel. It's in a Simply Rugged Sourdough so I could strap it on quick if I had to get in pants.

6 of my reloads, Hornady 158 grain XTP, JSPs, in front of 6 grains of Unique.

It varies. Sometimes it's my SP101. Other times it's one of my 40 cal. Still other times its my M&P9. No set reason or rhyme to which one it happens to be.
