I am looking for the shipping/production date of my new S&W 686. I think it's from the 1980s. The serial number is ADV6XXX.
Thanks guys! |

Just scored an A Serial Model 41, A225xxx. I think it is from 72 or 73.
Thanks! |

Model 41's are great guns! I have two of them, one from 2001 and another from 1959. They both love CCI standard velocity. Jim |

Smith and Wesson model 16-4 in .32 magnum... Does this serial number sound right?

It came into my shop, and I'll probably never have an opportunity to buy it. But I'd snatch it up if it came out for sale to pair with my model 15. Thanks again for the information. That's about what I figured.

Hi, Jim! What do you think was the DOB of a .32 Hand Ejector numbered 664726?
Thanks in advance! |

Hope you enjoy your trip Jim!
When you get a chance after you're back, I scored a Model 37, J997xxx. No barrel bin, so I assume mid to late 80's. Thanks! |

J997xxx = 1982. Same year S&W was transitioning away from barrel pins. Jim |

Found a Highway Patrolman revolver in an old house we bought for remodeling. Not in bad shape. Trying to date it correctly. Model 28 S/N S2163**
Best I am reading via internet maybe 1961? Could this be correct? S&W revolver dating has always seems like an alien code to me. Any help is appreciated. |
