need 500 mag loads!!

I need some loads to try out in my s&w 500 magnum. Maybe something middle of the pack, my hand is sore now so I don't need any hot loads..LOL!!!!

For something light, try about 33 grains of AA#9 under a Rainier 335 grain FP. Should get ya about 1200 FPS - nice & mild.

the only place I have found 500 S&W loads on line is the hodgdon site.

Thanx for the load, I'll give it a shot. The hodgdon site was the only place I found any loads also. I was hoping alliant had some load data on it, but nothing I can find yet. Man these 500's are some wicked guns!!!! Makes my 44 mag seem like a 9mm..LOL!!! Just wish the front sight had some color to it, something like the ruger super's has would be great.

I've gotten pretty fond of Accurate #9 for all of my magnums except the .357 Max. It loads really well and you can call their ballistician Johan and he's happy to help ya with questions. They didn't have any data for the Rainier 335's published, so I called him and he gave me a safe range for it.

Try H110 at 40 grains for Hornady 350 gr FMJ-XTP. Very accurate...robust power but doesn't batter the hand. Still makes the folks standing next to you [color=#FF0000]█[/color][color=#FF0000]█[/color][color=#FF0000]█[/color][color=#FF0000]█[/color][color=#FF0000]█[/color] their pants.
