Vehicle concealment options
Looking for ideas for a car mount holster or a way to secure a handgun in the vehicle.
The stipulations... I don't want it on me, there's no way I can carry it and sit comfortably and I drive a lot. I'd rather not permanently deface the car if possible (drill holes etc)..I only keep them 2-3 years and resale is an issue. Thinking about a left handed cheap Uncle Mike's and velcro along the center console? Anyone have any unique or effectively navigated this issue before? I have googled it...I have options but want to see if anyone has something out of the ordinary that's worked particularly well. |

Unless you remove the pistol and take it with you each and every time you leave the car, it's only a matter of time until someone steals it. Just carry on your person and get used to it. I carry daily and it's not uncomfortable there under the arm.

I don't know what kind of car you have but you could look into putting a holster on the bottom part of your dash. It may require some holes but they would be out of sight.

Not sure what your vehicle make and model is, but most have built in storage for everything from sunglasses to movie DVD's. Found the overhead sunglasses storage worked well for my needs.

I don't know the law in your state, but in NY state it is illegal to leave a loaded firearm in your unattended car. Loaded means ammunition and gun in the same compartment. So the safest thing to do is to carry the unloaded gun and leave the ammunition. Or next is to carry the ammo and leave the gun.
IMHO neither option is very good.

I think the Kingston Carseat Holster would work best for me.
But here is an option that also should work: http://www.gungoddess.com/steering-w...holster-mount/ |

Rembrandt...love that. Don't have the overhead in mine unfortunately or that'd be the way I go for sure.

I had the stuff for the velcro option around the house so I rigged it up yesterday. Not too bad...time will tell if it holds. Nothing permanent if not. Thanks for the suggestions and input. |
