I just inherited a Savage Anschutz Model 141M
It was my mom's and no telling when it was bought.
Can anybody tell me any history on this rifle? Are they rare/valuable? Thanks! |

Add a photo if possible and the serial number, just leave the last couple of numbers off.
And you can go to the following and find out what others are asking. http://www.gunsamerica.com/Search.ht...hutz+Model+141 |

Anschutz 141
I have one in .22ir and it's a great rifle. You will enjoy it especially since it came from your mother.

I bought one just like it, about 1975.
IIRC, Savage first started to catalog them ca.1971 Although a very nice rifle, they're not particularly rare/valuable - less than a pure Annie - since the 141 action was not the top-of-the-line (the Model 54 was, back then). I bought a M-141 ILO a M-54 because I couldn't abide the 54's wing safety - AND I wanted a .22 Magnum (at the time, n/a in the M-54, IIRC) . |

Thanks for the feedback.
I will definately be keeping it because it was my mothers. Came with a Leupold 2x7 on it. I have never owned a 22 mag. She also left me a Colt Diamondback 4" nickle 38sp. Excellent condition. I think to her, that was her prize piece and she carried it often into the field. She will be missed...... |

Back in the 60’s my best friends mom ran the drugstore in our small town, was the pharmacist/owner.
She carried a revolver in a holster out in the open and hunted deer. More than once I helped my friend carry the deer into the garage. She made the greatest summer sausage. All of us that ran together thought his mother was “COOL”. I feel your loss Last edited by Ozzieman; September 1, 2010 at 03:31 PM. |

Mom was the "cool" type.
She wanted to be with her boys as they got older and enjoy their hobbies. Hunting was the answer for her. She loved the outdoors. She killed as many bucks as her two sons did, and always complained that the "Muy Grande" had not shown up. Probably over half the memories I have of her in recent years, is in camo. She hunted all the way till she had her stoke. 71 years old. Way to go mom!!!! Last edited by Capp35; September 2, 2010 at 09:16 PM. |
