Hi, need help identifying this.
Hi everyone,
like the title says i need some help identifying this. i got it from my grandpa that pasted away awhile ago. |

It's a bayonet... I'm captain obvious aren't I?
Or it's a keyboard or a dollar bill or a dead happy face or the letters KENZ or...

Looks like a bayonet for an 1861 Springfield or P-53 Enfield rifle musket. civil War era stuff.

if your question is "what is it" its a bayonet
what "exact kind" i have no idea, other than an old one you even have a tacticooled keyboard in that pic! |

It's a bayonet for an Austrian Lorenz.

well its diffidently not the Austrian Lorenz but the springfield and enfield dont look right either this is a four sided deal not a triangle.

Looking here it sure looks like a Lorenz. Maybe we need some better pictures showing the locking mechanism more clearly if you say it's not.

I used to love being able to hit hard at 1000 yards. As I get older I find hitting a mini ram at 200 yards with the 22 oddly more satisfying. |

ill take more pics tomorrow. the locking mechanics is in a rigid "S" type shape where the Lorenz looks like its a slanted straight line but, i could be wrong.

You've got me on that one. I'm still thinking Lorenz but I can't find any with an s cut. Maybe Russian, they used some four sided ones..

At least one Spanish Remington Rolling Block used a quadrangular bayonet as well, but those proofs look German or Prussian to me.
