Ruger RedHawk in 45 colt

Found a new one at lgs today around $600. Was reading some and issues seem to be shooting cast which is what my husband wants. Also curious if it will shoot 45acp with moon clips. Thought it would make him a nice gift.

Also looked at Ruger 1911 10 mm. Great looking gun and trigger way nicer than the Kimber beside it.

Can't make a decision but if Ruger does both cast and shoots both lc and acp it would be a better deal at $300 cheaper.

Some models of the Redhawk can shoot .45 ACP with moon clips, but many cannot. You'd have to give us the model number first.

The Ruger 10mm will probably be the better, more useful gun since it is an automatic vs the outdated revolver.

Unless it's the convertible Red, it will NOT accept ACPs.

My .45 Colt/ACP Redhawk shoots cast bullets just fine.

I have a Stainless Ruger Redhawk 7 1/2 inch that shoots cast just fine. In fact, that is about all I shoot in it.
