When is the last time...
you seen primers in this kind of packaging?!?
One of the Winchester's had a price of $7.30/1k Found them in the attic of my in-laws(he's deceased) loaded one up and it went BANG. That's 4700 primers, FREE!?!

I'm thinkin' 1960s... anyone have any guesses?
Hell, man, I'd just love to have those boxes. No idea if they have any "value" as collectible boxes, but I think they look terrific and would look great around my load bench. 4,700 primers, too?! Awesome! Do the CCI primers say "Cascade Cartridge Inc" on them? That's where the name came from before all the different companies that have owned the name.

I have some old CCI 500's that in the same exact box (70'2 vintage). They still work just great.

The other packages are likely older than I, but the white W-W packaging was still shipping 15 years ago.
As I type this, I have about 2k primers on my shelf, wearing those colors.

I still have (and occasionally use) both the Winchester Staynless and CCI green box primers you show in your pic. I also have some Alcan primers, too!
I have no idea what value they might have in the realm of "days of ol'". |

Winchester Western quit using those colors about the mid-1970s. The white Winchester boxes are from between about 1980-1995, after that htey switched to the blue box. The green CCI boxes are mid-1970s. Herters went TU in 1970, IIRC.

I'm using CCI's that look like that, but are Cascade labeled...
... so the green & white box must be right around the time of the name change... all my old primers still work fine... I usually take the outer boxes once empty to the gun show to get rid of them...
the ones I'm using up right now for my 32 S&W loads are marked 99 cents per 100 pack

Here's my oldest primers, have gathered people must have been smaller back in the old days, could likely fit about 7000 old primers in a current 1000 sized box.

Yep... that's all about designing newer packaging that makes them a little more stable to ship, and a little less likely to explode from at hit in transit... also, less likely that one of them exploding sets all the other ones off.
Either that or they didn't know what to do with all their money when they went from $9 a thousand to $40, so they spent it on cardboard packaging!
