Anybody familiar with this?

Winchester Ranger 120 12 gauge, 19" barrel and pistol grip

Might be getting one as a part of another deal...

I have no use for a pistol grip and don't like how the barrel was cut just behind the vent rib support. In stock form the Ranger 120 was a nice utility gun. In that shape, I don't know what else was done to the internals and would steer clear. Just my opinion.

I had one in the 1980s. It was a club. It was effective, but certainly not refined. It was a good starter. It will kill stuff. Thats about all I can say about it.

Another Bubba job. Check the mechanicals out thoroughly, should be OK. Get a piece of metal installed to support the the end of the rib, epoxied in place should work. LOSE the pistol grip, it is useless and you won't like trying to control the gun, put a buttstock on it. JMHO. Goat

FWIW, the Ranger 120 was an econo version of the post-64 Winchester Model 1200, with a non-walnut stock & less polishing prior to bluing.

AFAIK, it was never made in that "cruiser" config - and certainly no factory "cruiser" utilized a vent rib bbl (they were always plain bbls).

"IF" you want to include it as part of another deal, I wouldn't advise putting more than $100-$125 value into it.

My Ranger 120 doesn't look at like your 120. Mine has the Walnut stock and will knock clays out of the air all day long...Deer barrel with rifled sites none the less. Great shooter..very reliable and accurate. Good luck

I like my winchester 120 and 1300 shotguns and wouldn't have anything else. That said I would give 50.00 for parts after the horrible hack job done on it and that may be too much.
