Ellis Brothers Shotgun
I inherited a Shotgun several years ago and am considering selling it, but before I do I would like to find out more history about it.
Its an Ellis brothers side by side. I vagely remember someone telling me that it is one of a pair made and there was once and article written about the 2 guns. Can anyone help me or suggest places to visit to find out a bit more? Thank you in advance for any replies. |

I have seen the name before, google it, or you could send a PM to Tamara on of the staff here who basically knows everything about historic firearms.

Are you sure it is Ellis Brothers? There is a company in Spartanburg SC by the name of Ellet Brothers that sold doubles under their own name. They are a pretty big wholesaler that carried a wide range of brands, including their own.

There was an Ellis Brothers gunmaker in Birmingham England. A quick search did not turn up a history on them.

Just for your info, this may be the correct place to try. I'd bet they could at least help you with some info.
