Pistol Uppers

I've been entertaining the idea of a new upper for my AR in a pistol caliber. Don't ask me why, it just appeals to me.

I currently reload both .45 and 9mm, but am leaning toward a .45 version.

Looking at the Olympic upper, (yeah, seen all the bad press on Olympic, but I own a few Kimbers too, so I guess I'm drawn towards bad
manufacturers... )

Anyone have experience with these uppers?
Any ballistics on the 9mm through a 16 inch barrel versus the .45?

No experience with those uppers.
