Anyone been able to substitue bullets with the free Hornady offer?

So I finally get into reloading and picked up a set of .454 Hornady pistol dies. I was pretty stoked to see they are giving 100 bullets free with them - until I looked at the choices. I don't have a Hornady reloading manual yet but talked to the tech support guy there and he said the two options (the 185gr hp xtp, and 185gr swc) were not good choices for even the .45 colt (which I can use in my super redhawk). My question is, has anyone been able to get a different bullet than the ones that are listed on the rebate form? The tech support guy said to try asking customer service but I haven't been able to try yet (working during the day has a way of getting in the way of the fun stuff
