Benelli SuperNova

I'm looking to purchase this as my first shotgun but I don't have any experience with this particular weapon. Two questions
1)If I got the tactical model are the field model's barrels interchangeable with it?
2)Which over receiver rail systems for optics are proven/recommended etc?

Thanks.

All of the barrels will be interchangeable between the Novas. Most of the tactical models come with a scope rail, but if it doesn't, you can't go wrong with a Benelli made one. Unless you are going to shoot a lot of 3 1/2" shells, any mount should be fine, but you get what you pay for.

The Nova series are a very good shotgun, and you should be happy with it.

I used to own a Benelli SuperNova, it was a great shotgun, I only got rid of it when I traded it in on a Benelli M1 . The SuperNova was solid, accurate, and had a very good feel for it to shoot. The M1 was just better.

The barrels will interchange but, they are hard to find and expensive (as is anything factory for the SN). The SN I had was a very dependable and accurate shotgun but, I sold it (steadygrip stock was too long). I can add that the shotgun was already drilled and tapped when I bought it.
