I would say the one you are:

1. Most comfortable with.
2. Available when you need it.
3. Most accurate with.

It's shot placement and trigger control thats most important, whether a pea shooter .22 or a magnum.

Desert Eagle

Although with only one vote so far but the DE in 50AE is very impressinve. Howver, I think it is more of a collector's items them something for practical everyday use.

I wonder how much more power we need in a handgun to take it to the ultimate level.

Polymor pistols

Looks like polymor pistols are preferred as Glock in lead. As much as to my surprise CZ did not do come close whereas everyone talks about them. Sig is the only serious contender to Glock in this poll.

SIG

best overall gun.

the only reason why my hi-power and px9 get shot are because their ammo is cheaper.

To me the "best pistol" is the one you have the utmost confidence in and ability with.

Uh, long time reader, first time poster. (please don't rip me to shreds!)

But I feel (after reading TFL for so long) that the only reason no one other than Sig (who makes a fantastic and, IMO, better gun than Glock) is competing wih Glock in the poll is because 1911's are made by all different manufacturers and all fans of said 1911s have their own company preference, be it S&W or (shudder) Kimber, Springfield or Colt, Brown, LB or Wilson.

If votes could be recast based on model and not brand I think we'd see a definite shift towards the good 'ol 1911 (especially on these forums).

BTW, I am not a plastic gun hater. When the zombies finally start tearing my house apart I'll probably reach for an HK or Glock.

Just my .22

That is an interesting observation. However, I beg to differ since I think even in such poll (with models) Glock will lead. Nevertheless, here in this poll is quite apparent what make of pistol people prefer. I own a 1911 model by the great original Colt, but I chose Glock since it suits my needs well.

From the list only pistol I have no experience with is Springfield.

I own most with exception to Desert Eagle, which I am trying to buy in 50AE, but bullets are problem where I live. There is a dealer selling one in 357 but I have my King Cobra to feed 357s, and SRH to feed 44s!

I voted for the SIG, not that I carry it 100% of the time; but its almost a
perfect match for me, as my P220A has been thru 'bout 12 years of LEO
duty~!

Is Colt making newer models in semi autos? I have not come across one that seems to be the talk of the town?

Does any one have 1911 by Remington? My friend has one and he is claiming that it's a collector's item and asking too much for it.

It is considered by many to be a collectors item. I remember back in 79 being issued a 1911 made by "Singer", (like in the sewing machines). Jokingly I told the armor I don't want to carry this..... Wish I had it now as it is worth in the range of 12K +.

Remington 1911 and Mauser

So what you are saying is that it could be around the same price as the Singer 1911? He wants around 4000$, but the condition is not that great. I would like to get something unique in 1911 (just to have it) even when I do not see myself carrying or using is it much aside from perhaps occasional shooting on the range.

Mauser:
How much would a 20 shot german Mauser should be in the US? Here is costs between 1000 (ten shot) to 2000 (twenty shot select fire).

AS per Luger P08: it costs around 250$.

Struggle for the 3rd Place

It is becoming aparent from the poll that the struggle is really for the third place. As for the top choice Glock is way ahead while SIG distant second, yet far ahead of any other pistol.

This isn't really about what's best. It's about what's most popular. Get 100 Glock owners to vote, and automatically, Glock is best. Since Glocks are inexpensive, there is probably a larger percentage of Glock owners out there. Not that I have anything against Glocks particularly....

Sig Arms.

Most reliable.

Refined and ultratested.

Auto pistol artwork.

second?

Hands down-Glock.

Like your favorite dog-this gun should never bite you and always bite what you're shooting at.

that's actually a pretty funny poll. kinda like asking which car is best, ford, chevy, vw, honda, etc. then you look at the list and think, "where's bentley? where's ferrari?"

JMOFartO:

This is just a time critical personal opinion popularity contest....

For me:

At this moment its the HK P7

Before the P7 it was the Walther PPS..
Before the PPS it was the Walther P99c/AS
Before the Walther P99c/AS it was the Sig P239 w/CT Lasergrips.
Before the Sig P239 w/CT Lasergrips it was the Glock26 (X2).
Before the Glock26 it was the S&W3913.
Before the S&W3913 it was a Browning HP.
Before the Browning HP I can't remember.

In a cc mousegun:

At this moment it is the Seecamp LWS32. (X3).
Before the LWS32 it was the Keltec P32.
Before the Keltec P32 it was the NAA Guardian.
Before the NAA Guardian it was the POS Beretta Tomcat.:barf:
Before the Tomcat it was.... I forget.

Wanna talk revolvers?

Just personal opinion/YMMV.

So you're saying there are mostly Glock owners on this forum? People will come up with any excuse as to why Glocks dominate the hand gun world. Ever appear to you that this poll may be correct according to the majority opinion? I doubt that Glock lovers have the largest membership here.

I agree with Glockeroo.

It is just not the fact that Glock members are in majority at TFL. Out of 57000 member only 95 so far voted for Glock.

I wonder why Desert Eagle is only stuck with ONE vote so far. I thought they have better reputation than that.

Can some one shed light on this? What is market like for Desert Eagle in the US since this is a US based forum.

Sig at 64.
For third place they are just too far behind to even catch up.
