Need help choosing a 20" AR for FIL - Page 3

I never shopped for a carry handle. I didn't know they were that expensive.

I really wanted a carry handle, but the price is high for what it is and you can get a cheap knockoff off if not careful (confession).

I may get one someday, the bulk of my M16 use involved the A3 variant career ended with an M4. My first was the A2 for a couple of years even had one still marked XM16E1; it had been MWO'ed to A3 standards. I was on a short deployment of 90 days and some SNAFU caused us to be without a means to secure the extra rifles, I spent a month or so with that XM16 on my back and the A3 in my hands, can't say it was fun but it was interesting to see one of those old receivers. I can certainly understand the nostalgia.

So, I am back again. Still trying to find a rifle for my FIL. Came across this option the other day made by Bear Creek Arsenal and sold by Atlantic Firearms.

Never heard of Bear Creek Arsenal, are they any good?
Has anyone had any dealings with Atlantic Firearms?

Price point and warranty sound too good to be true.

The Bear Creek Arsenal says it is chambered in .223 Wylde. Is this a better option?

Not familiar with Bear Creek, but that does look like a great deal. The Wylde chamber is a nice option as it can handle both 5.56 NATO ammo, as well as .223 Remington with decent accuracy. I also like the 1 in 8" twist. My only concern would be the lifetime warranty. With the current oversupply of AR rifles (and small companies offering them), it may only last the lifetime of the company. But then, building or replacing parts on an AR isn't rocket science, and there are lots of guys putting these together and you tube is full of videos showing how to do all things AR.
