Winchester modell 88 trigger job ??

I have a Winchester mod. 88 and i'm not happy with the trigger pull. I was told by a gunsmith a few years back that there's not much that can be done with it. Has anyone had any experience with this.

.

Your gunsmith was essentially correct - learn to love it for what it is.

I was able to slick them up a bit, but your gunsmith is essentially correct. As a quick fix, you might try some good gun grease on the engagement surfaces.

What about an E-Z pull trigger assist?

Otherwise, it can be done...or has been done...buy a few replacement parts for the trigger mechinism and practice on those. Leave the origionals alone so you can put it back together if all else fails.

I have done a number of trigger jobs, by this method with great results.
I also apply some Gun Slick or Moly grease in those contact areas. ....

Try it and;

Hello, I just wanted to state that by wrapping a piece of elastic band through the lever and around the trigger, I was able to reduce the pull from 8 to 4 pounds. It doesn't reduce the creep, but it now only takes 4 pounds of pull to make the trigger move.
