Cased sets of Colt 2nd Gen

Dear all,

I would like to collect the following cased BP Colts sets:

according to information from the book History of Colt Blackpowder Reproductions.

Only the cased sets:
Colt Model Civil War Grant

Colt Model Civil War Lee

Colt Model Civil War Grant + Lee double cased

Colt Model Conquistador

Colt Model Butterfield Overland Stage

Colt Model Interstate Edition

Colt Model 1862 Pocket Navy

Colt Model 1862 Pocket Police

It would be of great value if you could give me some pictures of this very cased sets as well as estimated present sales prices.

Here in Germany less or no information is available.

Thank you so much for your help,

Greetings from Bavaria

Big Buck, Current (2011) Collectors Handbook values for sets are as follows:

Colt Model Civil War Grant - 100% - $800; 98% - $525

Colt Model Civil War Lee - 100% - $800; 98% - $525

Colt Model Civil War Grant + Lee double cased - 100% - $2000; 98% - $1300

Colt Model Conquistador - 100% - $3250; 98% - $2125

Colt Model Butterfield Overland Stage - 100% - $1000; 98% - $650

Colt Model Interstate Edition - 100% - $3750; 98% - $2450

Colt Model 1862 Pocket Navy - 100% - $750; 98% - $500

Colt Model 1862 Pocket Police - $800; 98% - $525

I didn't include value for New In the Box (NIB) sets because the chance of you finding a set with all the original packaging is slim to none. NIB would add 15 to 20% to the 100% value. Prices realized have been pretty much in line with estimates; but, you can sometimes find a real deal.

You might want to get 'Colt Percussion Revolvers - The Second Generation Collectors Handbook and Pricing guide #6' from Dennis Russel. It's $34.95 plus postage from:

Dennis Russell
3162 Johnson Ferry Road
Suite 260-607
Marietta, GA 30062

Here are pictures of some of my sets:
Baby Dragoon, 1860 Army, 1862 Pocket Navy & 1862 Pocket Police 1 of 500 sets

Cavalry Commemorative, R E Lee, Bicentennial, and U S Grant cased sets

Grant/Lee matched pair cased set (with all original packaging)

And the Buttterfield Overland Despatch commemorative set

I haven't acquired a Conquistador or Interstate set............................. yet

Fingers is right.

But, I do have an unfired RELee in display box w/accessories like shown in his pics. It has been cocked but no screws turned. I love it and wouldn't sell it for less than 875--including box and accessories. No paperwork or shipping box. [email protected]

Finger,

thanks a lot for your proper point of view.

I could not find any image about that interstate set. Is there a picture available?

Greetings

I've never seen an Interstate set & don't know of any pictures. Colt catalogs of the time don't even have pictures of it.

Gyvel,

Thank you iam also pretty happy.

Yesterday i saw an Original Colt made arround 1863 in good working condition as well as a Remington same period and good working condition. I could inspect both of them and i think they are still good shooters.

What is a reasonable price for that at the moment in the US?

regards

Thomas

No, but there were only 20 of them made which means they rarely - if ever - come up for sale. Other editions that had less than 100 made rarely come up as well.

I picked up a couple 1 of 50 engraved 2nd gens recently which were only the second pair I've seen in the past 7 years.

The Heritage Guild L.D. Nimschke Edition Dragoon

This 1 in 50 limited edition Colt Dragoon has been on consignment in a Connecticut gun shop for at least 2 years now. The owner may be willing to entertain offers for it. Anyone seriously interested can send me a PM.

Fingers, your collection get's more impressive every time you share photo's of parts of it !!!

BigBuck007, the revolvers you're looking at (the originals), are going between $850.00 to $1,300.00 in good shootable condition. Obviously the better the appearnce the better the price. Got any pic's of the ones you're considering?
