Did NBC David Gregory commit Felony on Live TV in Washington DC?

Your link does not connect to anything. This one works though:

(Edit, looks like Alabama Shooter and myself were posting simultaneously)

The fact of the matter is, we do not know the circumstances of how Gregory got the magazine to use as a prop. Most gun laws have exemptions for props owned by media companies and such may be the case here. For all we know, the magazine used may very well belong to the D.C. police department and was loaned for use as a prop. While I'm certainly no fan of the way that Gregory conducted the interview with LaPierre and would like as much as anyone to call him a law-breaking hypocrite, I'm not willing to do so based on the very limited information that we have.

I just emailed the DC Mayor asking him to enforce his own gun laws.

Nothing will come from it, but have to try.

He actually just PROVED Wayne LaPierre's point; that even if they are banned, people will be able to get a hold of them - because they are banned in D.C. and he sat right there holding one up for the cameras.

I have to wonder of the President of the NRA had been holding the magazine instead...

I doubt he'll get in any trouble. I would like to see a complete expose of how the magazine was obtained, but I doubt that will happen either.

Good luck with that. He's under investigation for his 2010 campaign, 2 city councilmen have been convicted this year with one going to jail and another put on probation...and then there's Councilman Marion Barry...
When the leaders of DC can't even follow their own laws, I have little to no hope of them actually enforcing them.

No he didn't and my first thought was I wish he would have called him on it right then and there but on further reflection, perhaps he didn't because it's possible "something" would have happened to make him look bad, ie: the response could have been that they are banned and that's why Gregory had to borrow one from the PD to use as a prop.

Would not matter if the police lent it to him. That would be illegal too. That is how the Blackwater guys got in trouble (one of the ways).

Yeah, a Bushmaster, he also had two pistols.. a Sig, and a something I don't remember. Apparently he only used the Bushmaster.

And the magazine was legal if it was non-functional. If it was functional...

Could have been non-functional.

It's not what you know, it's what you can prove.

the story is changing so much I don't know who to believe. I would like to see the evidence report from the cops to see which weapons were found where instead of the various news reports.

The other was a 10mm Glock. I haven't heard if it was a Glock 20 or Glock 29. I read somewhere that he used the 10mm to commit suicide, but I'm not 100% sure.

Some years back an anti gun activist brought an M-1 into DC in violation of the DC laws. No action was taken as it was only a "technical violation".

Nothing will come of this incident.

Where does the D.C. law limit itself to prohibiting only functional magazines?

He wasn't holding up a photograph, or a solid plastic "blue" replica. He was holding up what certainly appeared to be a genuine, metal magazine body. I don't see how that would be exempted just because someone fiddled with the guts.
