jepp2 - Excellent photos. The last photo is what I see most often.

Re: reloading glock brass
So if our Glock brass doesn't look like that we are good I guess?

If the brass looks like the last one from a generous chamber, it's fine after resizing, especially if it will be shot out of a Glock again.
If it is to be used in a tight match type chamber then chances are an occasional one will not fit as most sizing dies have enough of a radius on the bottom to not size all the way down, for ease of use with a progressive press. You can use a case gauge to separate out the few finished rounds that are oversize (for use in generous chambers). Or you can use a push-through die like the Redding GRX or Lee FCD based Bulge Buster to make all of them work. The "old" way of fixing it with an undersized sizing die is not a good idea even if it might do just enough to chamber, because it still does not reach the base, accuracy is worse (bullets make poor expander dies) and you end up overworking the brass . That's not to say that having a u-die isn't useful at times--it's handy to avoid setback when using thin brass. Setback is bad news in .40 and 9mm due to the very small case volumes and high pressures, and there's no push-through die possible for 9mm because it's tapered. |

If brass in a Glock looks like the bulged base stuff in the phots, the owner of that pistol should have changed his slide spring about 3000 shots prior to that brass being fired. It hit me today what caused that. Looked like some stuff I loaded for the .45 to shoot bowling pins with that I shot without putting in the heavy spring. That .45 was a 1911. If you load hot for the 5.7X28, you can see a greatly exaggerated demonstration of this.
