I like it! You already have a few classic style 1911's right? So this is a good change of pace!

Exactly! Wanted something different. Black, SS, Parked...why not digital camo?

I thought that you didn't want the original style grip safety which is why you bought the Ed Brown in the first place?
The finish looks great. |

I like the digital camo look for sure. But I'm a little disappointed in that I was looking forward to seeing your pistol dressed in Burnt Bronze with black accents that you were going for last time. The digital camo affect is a pretty "safe" one in terms of conventionality. The Burnt Orange w/black accents finish, on the other hand, is a little bit outrageous and a little riskier in terms of most people liking it if you ever had to sell it. Still, I'd like to have seen how it looked...on your pistol.

Constantine,
Nice to see that you decided to have that Colt repaired. I know what it feels to have a bubba'ed gun and it is not great. But as long as it wasn't too bubba'ed, it can always be saved. So I hope when you pick up your Colt, it will be all you were hoping for. Also can't wait to see pics once you have it home. |

This would have been my 2nd bubba'd gun if it wasn't for this smith. The last one would have been a lot worse to the wallet in terms of repair. I will take pics and pics and pics of this bad boy once it's home!!! Next pay check I'm picking it up. can't wait for this range toy. |

“ can't wait for this range toy.”
Of course it’s a range toy. Your digital 1911 is perhaps the only one within a 100-mile radius. It’s like saying, HERE I IS! Just a thought that’s all. |

Have to admit reading the full thread was a little depressing. I know all to well whats its like to have a gun you love be out of commission! Now get out and enjoy it enough to wear that new finish off haha.

Now's the time that I wish we had an "applause" smiley. Looks good!

It’s looking good. I’m sure you’ll let use know how the finish holds up.
The market has changed much over the years. The last PC (Performance Center) S&W I noticed was the pricey all steel 9mm 952 target pistol. Aesthetically nice IMO. Recently noticed an M&P 9mm Pro Series under the PC banner. Plastic! |
