45-70 Boolit mold

Does anybody know of where I can get a .460 diameter bullet mold for a 45-70? Roughly 400 grain.

The most I see is 457-459 diameters. I found a few places that will custom make the mold, but the price is well beyond what i want to spend...

Off the top of my head, you could also go with the .459 mold, and a .460 sizer to "squeeze" it up to the diameter you need. I'm guessing you slugged your bore and it came out a little over?

Yes. Marlin 1895 Micro-Groove. Shoots .460 bullets beautifully. I slugged it and came out .4585

How do you "squeeze up" a bullet? I was looking into a Lee sizing die for my press. The ones that are 7/8-14 thread.

A sizer press "can" work both ways. Usually it takes a cast bullet oversized and squeezes it through a smaller die to round it out in the correct diameter. BUT, within a couple thousandths of an inch, it can work the other way too. Put a slightly smaller bullet in the press with the correct diameter, base and nose punch, and apply pressure. It will spread the diameter into the sizing die the same way. Granted, it's only shifting the lead a thousandth or so, so taking it up a size through compression isn't a big chore.
