Sizing die denting .223 casing?
My sizing die is denting one side of cases right at the shoulder before the neck. It is only happening to about one in three. I can't figure out why it is doing it and I tried more lube which helps but it still happens on some. I am using RSBC dies/press. Thanks guys.

Might be too much lube-try one of the spray-on lubes, easier to use and clean up! If you are usong one of the roll-on pads, excess lube can cause hydraulic pressure to dent the shells.

Yep, too much lube. Your sizing die's directions didn't explain this?

I was using a minimal amount when I noticed the problem so I guess I will try even less.

I'd recommend cleaning the inside of the die as well. You might have build up in there.

Definitely clean the dies. I've found it's easier to get the right amont of lube on the case by applying a small amount of case lube to my left thumb and index finger and then use my right hand to roll the case between them. Just make sure you dont get any on the shoulders. The pad I was using always put on too much.

Try a quick spray of Hornady One Shot. Put the cleaned cases in a shallow box, with the cases horizontal. Spray the cases lightly. Wait a few minutes for the lube to migrate around the cases.
