Mag extensions that fit 870s AND Moss 500?

I have several mag extensions for Rem 870s. I once sold one to a friend who I think was able to screw the extension onto a Mossberg 500/590 or similar variant. I know some Mossbergs do not accept extensions, but it looks like some of their home defense or tactical models do have Remington style screw on magazine caps.

So, does anyone know if the Mossbergs with screw on caps have the same threads as Remington 870s? I'm kinda liking Mossberg better than Remington these days and their 6 shot tactical models with 18 inch barrels look ripe for adding a 1 shot extension (which I just happen to have, but for an 870).

Thanks

The reason that you cannot extend the moss berg 500 magazine is because the barrel screws onto the end of it, so If you lengthened it you couldn't screw the barrel on.

That is true of MOST of the Mossbergs, but I'm not sure if it is true of some of their tactical models.

Mossberg's 590 uses different threads then the Remington.

You can buy one shot extensions for the 590 series, but you can't use a Remington on it.
