Lee Classic Press?

Shooters:

Any more comments, advice on the Lee Classic press? I will probably only use it single stage as a convenience to die changing with extra turrets, at least in the beginning.

The description and related reviews on the Lee website are convincing. And the price delivered from Graf's is unbelieveable!

Tell me why not to buy!

Thanks! Gascheck

Tell us what you plan on reloading.

I started out with the LEE Pro 1000 for 45 acp and 45 colt.
I now added 38spec and 357 mag.

It's a very easy to use progressive press. After about 500 rounds I have an almost zero failure rate, with CCI primers(always mess up one,my fault not the press)Also I have figured out a few loads that work perfect in my guns(everyone is diffrent)

I say if your reloading only handgun ammo then the Lee Pro 1000 is the way to go.My first and last press for loading all my handgun ammo.

I just bought one and love it - well worth the $ IMO. The spent primer tube is a great improvement and the press feels hell for stout. Nothing bad to say here!

Lee presses

There are two presses in the Lee line with the name "Classic" in them. The Classic Cast Press, a single stage press. The Classic Turret Press as the name implies it is a turret press. For pistol stuff I would suggest the turret model. It's faster than a single stage press. It is not as fast and a true progressive, but close. the learning curve is faster than a true progressive and it can be used like a single stage press without much grief.

Ive used a classic cast press for years for magnum rifle rounds. Cant beat it. I went to a turret press for my handgun rounds.

I bought a Lee Turrent (not the classic) about 6 months ago and love it. It does have a "quirk" or two, but once you take the time to learn it, it's no problem at all. The priming system is pretty good, but I usually prime with a hand tool, so with primed brass I can load 5-6 9mm rounds a minute. Powder charges are very consistant also.

classic

OK--I wish that the Lee CLassic Turret had been available when I first bought my own press. I would have saved buying the 3 old presses I've had.
