URL attenuation
In order to preserve line width, long URLs are subtended to a fixed length yet still functional link
one problem if the reader copies the text out & emails it the url is now unfunctional on one of my lists last week someone commented that the Irish knife law newspaper broken URL is traveling the net like SIRCAM well that broken URL originated from someone emailing TFL text i don't know if there is a fix for this issue... dZ |

If someone wants to copy a URL, why not right click it and choose "Copy Shortcut"?

In Test 1 above I used the TFL defaults when posting.
In Test 2 above I unchecked the "Automatically parse URLs" box below the text input area. I think that PreserveFreedom had the best suggestion (AGAIN!) You have to copy the link location and manually paste it into your email if you want the link to work. This isn't so much a problem with TFL, (The links work here!) as it is with people not being sure that the links are valid in their emails. |
