64 grain PP in .223 rem.
I've been looking all over for data on the winchester 64 grain PP bullet using H4895 in .223 rem. I can't find anything.
Anyone out there have start to max data for this powder/bullet combo in a .223 rem. bolt gun? It's not in my manual or the Hodgdon site... Thanks. |

From a Winchester handout manual, using IMR4895 and their 64gr spire point bullet, minimum load22.0 grs, max load 25.0 grs and gets about 2850'ps. You can get more speed from 25.0 grs 748 which gets you 2970'ps. That's also out of a Winchester handout. Pressure on the 748 is only 47000. No pressure shown for the IMR4895. I tried this combo in my 223's and it didn't like it apparently as accuracy wasn't there. I ended up with Varget and it shoots fabulous. As with any data, start low and work up.
