I was disheartened to talk to an old feller at the Indy 1500 this afternoon, he's been there at the same booth since the 80s selling black powder items. I came around the corner to his booth expecting to see the 10-15 C&B pistols he normally has.....I saw NONE

He explained that he was done dealing with them and now just sells bullets, balls and knives.

but oh the joy when I got four isles over and saw this! A new vendor, selling all things black powder!

most where late 70s to mid 80s manufacture, all in like new condition. Not a pistol on the table (except for the real colts and lemats) was over $265. Every kind of dragoon, 1860 and most '51s you could think of...along with some nice rifles too!

GOOD GARDEN PEAS!!!!

That is like an oasis in the desert!! I'm seriously jealous. I could get a divorce standing at that table

. All of our gun shows have NOTHING like that. I have to hunt and pray, and every now and then I'll see a poor C&B shoved in the back of box on a vendors table.

They also had several DROP DEAD GORGES engraved LeMats. Also two vertical cases chock full of Colt Firearms reproductions. Sorry about the graininess of the second picture, my phone was dying and I try to snap pictures quickly. The other side of the booth was covered in 1860s-1900 era reproduction items...nicknacks, badges, coins and other cool stuff. I'll be headed straight for their booth at the next show in May. (I'll have fold'n money to spend then

) Got my eye on a couple of the 1860s and a baby dragoon.

I usually don't use that second expression, but I have to make an exception here.
That is something else.
I live in a rather large metropolitan area, and we have nothing close to that here.
However, going to several different stores I get all I need, including more Goex (last Thursday) so tomorrow I'm out to Burro Canyon with 200 balls, 200 wads, a pound of Goex, and an all day ticket to be there. With an 1858 and an 1860.

Sure wish i'd come across a table like that here in ky at one of our gun shows...i'd be divorced by the time i left..lol
