WTB: .30 Luger brass and reloading dies (FL)
I have an alphabet commercial Luger (.30 Luger) that I would like to start shooting more. I reload other calibers, but need some brass, the correct dies, and bullets if you have them. All my other stuff is Lee, I guess I would prefer that since it's familiar, but would consider others.

I have all the components in [ HUGE!] quantity and have no 7.65MM LUGER pistol.
Were it not for the 7.65MM P210-5 in the vault I'd dump em all. |

Wil -
If you're willing to part with any of them, let me know. I'm looking for about 200 pieces of brass and 500 bullets to get started. Thanks, spacecoast |

OK, I received 500 bullets (93 grain FMJ), brass and new RCBS dies. I have Titegroup, AA#2 and Bullseye. The closest load info I can find is 4.1 to 4.5 grains of AA#2 for a velocity range of 1106 to 1257fps (90 grain Hornady XTP), which tells me that about 4 grains is a reasonable starting point.
Any favorite loads with these powders and this bullet? I'll be shooting these from a 1920s Commercial Luger, 3-5/8" barrel. Obviously I'd like to take it easy on the gun if possible, but ensure proper cycling as well. I have about 40 rounds of factory Western ammo to use as well, so I'll probably make up about a dozen test rounds. |
