Reloading 7mm Barnes 110 ttsx
So i'm getting ready to reload some of the Barnes bullets in my 7mm Rem Mag.
http://barnesbullets.myshopify.com/p...110-gr-ttsx-fb I'm wondering what powder to use that will get me in the 3500 fps muzzle velocity range and still be an accurate load and how much powder I need to use. I'm kind of new to reloading... Federal claims theirs are 3500fps with the same bullet. I wonder if that's true and what powder they're using... Has anyone else used these bullets in their 7mm rem mag? I just haven't seen much about reloading these 110gr bullets. Maybe it's because they're new. Here they are on federal's site... http://www.federalpremium.com/produc...le.aspx?id=827 thanks! |

I wouldn't load any bullet for a 7mmRM less than 139 grains because of the ballistic coefficient. If I were using Barnes, I'd use the 140s @ 3300. Check the tables out to 500 yards and you might be surprised. Check the Hodgon and Alliant sites.

The Barnes manual #4 doesn't show data for the 110 gr. in 7mm. A 110 gr bullet moving at 3500 fps would be pretty flat for 300 yards. I loaded some 110 gr TTSX in a 270 Win. This load achieved about 3470 fps with no visible presure signs. It would have been a great antelope load, but my gun hated them.
Clean the heck out of your gun. Use the Barnes CR 10 cleaning solvent. I cleaned my old Winchester till I was afraid of wearing out the barrel. Everything I have read about the Barnes bullets is: Clean your barrel till it is perfect. Good luck. |

Alright... Thanks guys. I just wanted these to be a good coyote round. Something that will shoot fast and do some pretty good damage at longer ranges. I already bought two boxes of these bullets. I really wanted to atleast try them out. hmmmm

That is EXACTLY what I am doing for deer this year. I need to tame the
recoil and instead of reducing powder load I wanted to find the toughest light bullet. BARNES has the data if you call or email but I forgot what they said when I called. I decided on using the speer data for 7mm RemMag 110gr bullets and the max loads are 68 grains for Reloder 17 for 3535 fps or 75 grains of Reloder 22 for 3503 fps. This data is from the Speer and Alliant website. This new Rel-17 is supposed to be some pretty awesome stuff. Two boxes ! You must be pretty interested. Where are you located ? |

anybody else have input on how much RL-19 I need with this bullet? 80gr, there was no visible pressure signs... But the bolt was hard to rotate and eject after I fired a round of the 80gr of RL-19 with the 110 ttsx. I'm thinking 78gr will be about right? 3500fps and pretty accurate. hmmm
