The Maiden Voyage: Pietta 1858

Had wanted a Traditions Pennsylvania, still do, buy couldn't stomach the $700 price tag from the LGS so got a '58 Pietta from Cabelas instead....gotta say I'm impressed with it out of the box. Although I'm a Colt guy, this one shot dead accurate right out of the box and I left the files and dremel in the car!

This is it: 36 rounds all on paper at over 65 feet using 35gr of FFFG under a wad and .454 ball

a day shooting is not a day wasted....

Nothing like makin' smoke.... no matter what you do it with.
'Looks like you had a fun time! Good shootin' too.

I got out and shot a bit today, myself. It was nice and calm, and before long I had a big ol' cloud of smoke going. Nobody was around to see it but me, but still, I am always amazed how much smoke they produce.

Good choice and nice shooting. I like reviews with pictures of guns and targets.

That's roughly the same accuracy I had with mine, and also with the 1860 Colt, both by Pietta.
But at 75 feet, which amazed me, as I can't see much of anything anymore, at 75 feet.

A good day.

That target looks dead.

I wouldn't have wanted to be standing behind it for sure.

Good shootin! The plastic pistol boys can't touch performance like that at a distance like that!
