Frontier Scout cylinder

Can I drop in an after-market or used Colt's .22WMR cylinder into my Frontier Scout .22lr revolver without additional fitting?

Best,

Will

Some of the Frontier Scouts won't work with ANY .22WMR cylinders. As the barrel's bore is too tight. Some however are made for combo use. I have both types, and on one particular occasion, I slipped the magnum cylinder into the wrong gun. It did fire, but didn't sound right. The result was a split case. Not something I want to repeat. Unless it's for sure made to fit, don't try it.

I don't recommend firing .22 WMR in any gun originally intended only for .22 LR. The barrel diameter is wrong and in many guns the barrel steel is too soft, being made for low pressure and lead bullets.
