Obama Allies Try To Push Out Pro-Gun Democrat
With the departure of martial arts master and spiritual chariot driver, Jesse Jackson Jr., there is a crowded field of Democrats angling to replace him - since the seat in Illinois will likely stay Democrat. According to The Hill, the Obama machine is working to make sure that the Democrat who wins the primary is not one of the pro-gun Dems. Since we have several members here who support both Democrats and the Second Amendment, I thought they would want to be aware of a candidate they can support to steer their party the right way on the Second Amendment:
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/...ecial-election Even if you are not a fan of the Democrats, this seat will likely stay Dem. This is a chance to get a candidate who opposes AWB and magazine bans in Jesse Jackson Jr.'s old seat. Michael Bloomberg has already spent $1.3 million to make an example of her and prevent that from happening. Bloomberg is alao trying to use his money to intimidate pro-gun legislators. If we can help Ms. Halvorsson make it through the Dem primary in Cook county, then it sends a message that even with millions of dollars, Michael Bloomberg can't protect anti-gun legislators from their constituents. |

Oh Dear - Mr. Roberts, I do so value your contributions but this seems purely political to me.
However, I appreciate the post. I'm going to close it to follow our rules but leave it visible so members can read the valuable info. If other mods want to review my opinion we can. However, calls to support specific candidates can open up a can of political worms. Glenn
