Mossberg owners: anyone want to share a set of stock drop spacers?
In case you didn't know, Mossberg is now making what they call "stock drop spacers", plastic wedge-shaped shims that go between the buttstock and receiver to fine-tune the gun's "point" (similar to Dave McC's aluminum foil technique). They come 4 to a set, with -1/4" (increase drop) and +1/8", 1/4" and 3/8" (decrease). You can see them at www.mossberg.com.
I bought 2 sets and used the -1/4" from each one. I've got both sets of "plus" ones left (I figure those would work for a gun with ghost ring sights, which seemed high to me), and there's no sense letting them go to waste, particularly since Mossberg charges $18/set. If anyone is interested (2 people, I hope), let me know; throw me a bone (say $10 per set), and I'll send you the 3 remaining pieces. |

Uh, Jeff, credit where credit's due....
I do use and advocate that technique, but I did NOT originate it. I forget where I ran across it, it's been decades ago. |
