Rough Rider

I wanted to share that I just bought a Heritage Rough Rider for 124.00 plus tax from Dunham’s Sports. Best 124.00 plus tax I have ever spent, this far. This .22 is as accurate as any gun I own. I shot Colibri, Quiet 22s, and American Eagle and they were all accurate and went bang, or pop, as the ammo indicated. So far no loose screws.

Good econo .22 sure you will enjoy it, Heritage has .22 mag cylinder ,fancy grips and holsters. I bought one for the same price, sold it to my boss for varmint control on his farm.

I passed on the mag. cylinder . I don’t want to deal with the noise. I plan to pop some squirrels in my backyard with some colibri when the situation warrants.

If I can find a 9 shot model with the 6.5 inch barrel and adjustable sights for under $200, I'll be getting one soon myself.

I think the criticisms of these Heritage revolvers is blown out of proportion, but that's the internet for you.

I bought on years ago, leads up something fierce unless I run plated ammo, it looked like a smooth bore after 50 rounds. And it shot 2 feet to the left at 25 yards. But I found copper plated rounds and then bending the front sight blade way over cured it all. It now is a pretty accurate little gun. Enough so I bought another one last fall. I like them have the mag cylinder for both. The second one I bought has zero issues, shoots nice right out of the box. Overall I say these things are a great value, are they as nice as a single six, no, but the price more than makes up for it. My brother and dad went out and bought a couple each as well.

I bought mine with a case hardened finished in 2013. I just had to have the mag cylinder for it but once I got it, I found out that it is painfully loud and I don't use it. Mine has been 100% reliable and it goes well with my Henry lever action rifle so I have a complete cowboy set-up I have wanted since I was a kid in the 60s.

I really like mine. I have the same basic no-mag cylinder model. I was looking at a used stainless Ruger Single Six a couple months ago for what seemed like a decent price, but I just didn't see the point. I get enough joy out of the Heritage. Aside from the loose screws I mentioned in another thread, it's been problem free and accurate. The sights take some getting used to, but once you do, it's not hard to make hits consistently. The blue steel and cocobolo grips make for a handsome gun too.

Bought my Heritage Rough Rider 22lr 2 years ago. Tried every brand of 22 I could find. The end result was always the same. The rounds hit the target tumbling. At 10 yards it would group about 12 inches. The round count is around 500. Ran a borescope through it and found the problem. The rifling was a total joke. Micro cracks across the lands. It seems the bore was drilled with an extremely dull cutter. My Heritage Rough Rider was pure junk.

Congrats on your RR.

Mine works fine. Many many rounds have went through it. I don't use it much anymore though as I have my Single Six. One thing to make the RR better would be to revamp the ugly safety which stands out like a sore thumb. Never used the magnum cylinder either.

Always go for the 2 cylinders one, even if you don't plan on ever use the 22 mag cylinder you will have the option if a need/want arises.

Single Action .45 Colt (Sometimes colloquially referred to by its alias as the .45 'Long' Colt or .45LC). Don't leave home without it. That said, the .44Spec is right up their too... but the .45 Colt is still the king.
