XDE 45 Any one here have one?

I am researching Springfield's XDE 45 and would like to get anyone's experience with them.

How do you like it?

Accuracy? Reliability? Function?

I tend to gravitate toward hammer fired weapons and am looking at the possibility of getting a smaller 45 acp than my FNX 45 and Bersa 45.

The XDE 45 catches my eye and I have only fondled a 9mm version.

I guess I am trying to move up from a wish to a NEED....

I've fired one, but I'm majorly biased against subcompact .45s and Springfield. That said, it wasn't a bad gun if that's what you are looking for and don't mind funding a traitorous company.

I, too, prefer DA/SA with a hammer spur. It was noticably easier for me to rack than my Shield. Say what you will about me, but I found the recoil unnecessarily punishing, but again, I feel that way about every sub compact .45acp. I am definitely not inclined to add one to my carry rotation.

Thanks!

I'll stick with my 40s....I may have too many guns now.

I have a Shield 40 and after an Apex trigger kit the thing shoots pretty good.

With arthritis in my hands, racking the slide on the Shield is tough.

I don't mean to snipe at you, dontcatchmany, but I do wonder about having arthritic hands and yet shooting the Shield in .40 caliber

Anyway, I bought the XDe specifically for the easy-to-rack slide, expecting that later in my life I might have not be able to rack every slide. Heck, even 10 years ago I could barely do it on a new Browning HiPower. John Moses Browning must have been a weight lifter!
