.454 reloading got some questions

I havent loaded any 454 do any of you have a "pet load" that you like? I've loaded 9mm, 357, 44 and so on but I need some help........

First let me say that I don't have or shoot a .454, so take this info with a grain of salt.

It is my understanding that it is not recommended to reload for the .454 due to the pressures involved. Wish I could give more info, but that's what I've been told.

I've fired about 500 rounds through my .454 Ruger SRH, all reloads. Some were .45 Colt loads in .45 Colt brass, some were lighter than normal .454 loads ( equivalent of hot .44 mag. loads), and some were pretty close to factory .454 loads.

The tighter chambers require more care in seating and crimping. I use a Lee factory Crimp die. Otherwise, follow the advice in at leat three manuals, use discretion, and common sense.
