AR type pistols
Hope this is the proper place to post this.I have been looking over 2 ar pistols ,the cmmg banshee and the LWRC SMG 45.My question ......is the LWRC worth more than twice the price over the CMMG pistol?

Depends on what you want it for. LWRC makes products with a very high level of QA/QC, largely for military contracts, and for users whose lives depend on them. CMMG is more focused on consumer products at a price point.
That’s not to say CMMG makes bad products. I own one of their .22LR dedicated ARs and it’s accurate, well made, and fun. But they are not my go-to for defensive products. They just don’t have the reputation in that space that LWRC has. |

LWRC vs. CMMG
The short answer (in my opinion and for my purposes) is no. I have an 8", 45 ACP CMMG Banshee and it puts 45 ACP rounds on target with 100% reliability. It offers the advantage of 100% human interface compatibility with the AR platform. In addition it uses inexpensive, readily available Glock mags, which also work in my G30s. I've also had no issues with the 30 round ETS or the 26 round KCI mags. Unless the LWRC can rotate your tires or run your reloading press I can't see how it's worth twice the price.

A local company manufacturers ARs and I had them put together a 45 for me. 8" threaded, carbine length stock and Glock Mags. Shoots like a dream. They also put a 300 HAM'R together for me. The Armory in Pelham, AL. Outstanding.

The LWRC looks cooler, more MP5 like. Both products have a delayed blow back type action, which is nice. I have home built pistols in 9mm and 45 that are straight blowback, and that system has a lot of inertia traveling back and forth, especially in 45. CMMG makes good, well reviewed, products and I've used some of their parts for builds. If I'm on a budget for guns there's no way I'd pay almost 3 grand for the LWRC.

I’ve used cmmg parts, all have been perfect.
Cmmg has the best standard milspec’ish trigger. Cmmg complete rifles used to have a loyal following. I wouldn’t be afraid to purchase cmmg anything. Not intended to say anything is wrong about the other choice. Just passing what I know about cmmg. |

I've been binge-reading back issues of Firearms News for a couple of weeks, and must have read fifty articles on different brands, sizes, calibers, DGI, piston, etc., etc., and the only article that really made me think, "Should look into getting one of those" was the CMMG pistol-caliber pistols, especially in either .45 or 10mm.

10mm is right at the limit of what a conventional blow-back pistol can handle; I've always wanted to try cmmg's banshee with delayed bolt unlock. Since no pistol bullet is going to be giving you .2 MOA at 200 yds no matter what you fire it through--I'd go with the CMMG.

Am very pleased with my short barreled 45 acp Banshee. Accurate and fun to shoot, especially suppressed.

The lwrc is a great firearm. This will probably be my next firearm to get. The price is the only thing that is stopping from buying it at the moment.
