Rebellions, Riots, and Unrest

Ran across a list I found interesting and thought was very pertinent to civil rights.

Some we probably all know. Many events most of us are unfamiliar with. Some lasted hours and others years. Some were involved arms and some did not. Some were very serious affairs that brought the future of this country into question, while other proved more a comedy by the time the curtain fell. Many of these actions undeniably resulted in policy action and judicial decisions that shaped our country as much as any foreign war.

Early in the history there seems to be some diversity of participants and a tool for all sides, but recent events seem to be mostly around those to the far left or simply involve a raucous crowd turned loose with no goal in mind.

It would be very interesting to see some of the smaller movements at in the 17 and 18th centuries that were certainly omitted. To see if they had riots over things like sporting matches(horse races?).

What do you think?

There a lot missing from the early 1800s such as:

The Flying Horse Riot, where gangs of whites terrorized blacks for several nights burning and looting dozens of homes and killing a few.

The Snow Town Riot when... same.. same..

The Hard Scrabble Riots when... same... same...

These were all put down by the local militia.

Yep there are a lot missing from that list.
