458lott/416 rem vs 458win/416taylor in '98 Mauser?
I am doing research for DG rifle. Not concerned about push vs controlled feed. I like the '98 Mauser action because it is simple and reliable IMHO.
I prefer the longer cartridges because of the greater margins (ie lower pressures) and flexiblity (can use "long" bullets like X with less problem) allowed when handloading. Will the longer cartridges cause real problems in a '98 action?

Glamdring, if the conversion, feed rails, mag box alteration etc, is done correctly then no you won't have any problems. George
