Cooper
CZ Not very many other makers ever even looked at it. Remington made the excellent R-100 Rangemaster in 221, maybe you can find one on the used market.

.221 Fireball ---
Hey Scorch,
Thanks for the answer & how's it going out there with you guys ? I have an extra .22 Hornet barrel from a CZ 527 but I think the rate of twist is 1 in 16. Not sure if that would work too good with the .221 Fireball ctg. I didn't know if they were still being mfg. by CZ or not. It looks like it might push some of the lighter bullets at about the same speed as a .222 Rem. with a little less powder and be pretty accurate also. Thanks |

Hi Jim!
Your 22 Hornet probably has a 1:14" twist, it's pretty much standard anymore. I think you could just rechamber it and fix the extractor and be done. Check chamber dimensuons to be sure. You'll probably have to mess with the mag to get it to feed. You might check with CZ USA to see if it's cheaper to just buy a barrel and mag than get the chamber reamed.
