NEF Pardner 20 Gauge

I picked up this little beauty yesterday for 70 bucks from Niles Guns and Gold, Wellsboro, PA. It's in great condition.

New England Firearms Pardner Model
20 Gauge, 3" Mod.

I took it directly to the range where I gave it quick cleaning and lube. Functions perfectly.

They're fun guns. And in my experience, the 20 gauges offer better weight and balance than the 12s... probably because the outer dimensions of the receivers are the same, but the 20 is obviously bored out to a lesser degree, leaving more steel at the balance point.

She is a beauty.

But I though the 'Pardner' line were pumps.

Guess I was wrong.

They call both single shots and their pumps "Pardners", which seems like a bad and confusing idea.

Yep, in H&R official nomenclature, there is the "Pardner", and then there is the "Pardner Pump".

I like 'em a lot. Simple, durable, not expensive, traditional - what's not to like?

There's a 20 ga. Youth Model that looks much like the shotgun in your picture that stays propped behind the front door here...
