How much to have a gun refinished?
I've been carrying a Taurus PT945 in a Galco Scout clip holster for a few months now. The blued finish is already starting to wear on the edges that contact the holster. How much does it cost to get a gun refinished and what are the more durable finishes? Is it normal for a finish to start wearing this fast?

"IN PROGRESS"
All finishes wear.
Most durable: hard chrome, NP3, Roguard, electroless nickel, boron, titanium, etc...... Contact Bob Cogan at www.apwcogan.com (Accurate Plating & Weaponry) for best advice. I have one hard chromed gun, and one NP3'd. Both show some wear, with the hard chrome showing less obvious marks. For carry I prefer NP3. Of course, I think my next 1911 (Caspian, of course) will be gold-plated. Cost; worth whatever the number.

I got the slide and small external parts on my 229 refinished with a moly coating by Big Bore here in PHX. It cost 50$ after a little haggling. It looks great and Ill have to wait to see how durable it is, but so far so good.
