uberti firearms?

First I want to say hi I am new to this board. My question is are all of the uberti revolvers single action? I love the look of the ruger blackhawk "flattop" but want something in double action. any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Looking at the Umberti website it does appear that their cartridge pistols are all single actions. Some have the "SA" as part of the name, so that is a dead giveaway.

Other than that I look at the trigger and see how much of a gap they have. Double actions tend to have a wide space behind the trigger to the back of the trigger guard. That is to give you the length of pull you need to rotate the cylinder over to the next round. Single actions don't have that.

All the Ubertis sold here are single action. They do make a copy of the Colt Detective Special but it is not imported to USA.

At one time High Standard made the Double Nine, a double action .22 faked up to look like a SAA, and H&R had some, too.

The Mattell Fanner 50 was double action, too.

Sorry, if you want a double action revolver you are going to have to get a "modern" one on a design only a hundred years old.

Or you could purchase an original Colt , Smith, or Remington D.A. that's about the only way you can shoot D.A with a Cowboy looking gun.

Double Action Percussion Revolvers

If you want a Double Action percussion revolver, then get one of those Replica
Starr Double Action Revolvers made by Pietta and sold by Dixie

Dixie Gun Works sells a replica of a Double Action Starr Revolver made by Pietta. You can "Google" up the DGW website.

Dixie Gun Works sells replicas of both the Double-Action AND Single-Action Starr Percussion Revolvers. You can "Google" up Dixie's on-line catalog.

The replica Starr's are made by Pietta.

Original and replica Double-Action percussion revolvers are rare critters because during the percussion era, most revolvers were Single-Actions.

In cap and ball about the only choice is the Starr DA from Pietta. These are well fit and finished and the DA model has what I would call idiosyncrasies.

Not a good choice for the first time C&B owner.
