So folks voted for the best pistol. I am glad that common sense prevailed and glock was the choice of people with sig and hk to follow.

At least now all those 1911-loving-glock-haters are stiffled by the results. No sound there at all.

Bwahahahahahahaha:barf::barf::barf:

You have glock rocks tatooed on your buttocks don't you?

Being of a scientific background and education, I'm not at all convinced that conclusion is justified based on the evidence of posting numbers. Additionally, I note if the numbers are added up including other companies (besides Colt) making 1911 pistols - the number of pistols of the 1911 configuration really adds up to 248 - about 100 over the Glock numbers.

For openers, while my personal preference is the 1911, I'm not a Glock hater and own five Glocks and like them - I only own three 1911s but, I love'em.

This being my first post on this thread, I am moved to think the Glock lovers were busy posting and therefore in the majority while the 1911 lovers were too busy at the range shooting to cast their votes here.

Combined front against Glock may be more than Glock votes, but it does not mean that those all manufacturers that make 1911 got votes for their 1911s. As for Glock it got votes for being GLOCK!

And since you are of a scientific background you should also admit and realize the fact that more 1 in 5 people prefer Glock no matter whatever the *$^&$%& the other pistol is!

I have always favor my Springfield 1911 45 ACP Mil Spec as an all around firearm. A week ago just bought my wife a Smith & Wesson 38 spl model 442 and like the way it shoot with the Hogue grips. I just might even get one for myself as a CCW.

Webleymkv...I suggest that you experience the finer things in life. To begin with I recomend Glock 19.

Enough said.

Oh, I've tried a Glock 23 before. It jammed constantly, fit my hand about like a bar of soap, and the bottom of the trigger guard had a nast habit of painfully whacking my middle knuckle. I suppose my S&W's will have to be fine enough.

Nice looking revolver you have got there, but I think you failed to realize that we are talking about a semi auto in this poll/thread.

And scorpiusdeus.. that pic you got up there is that you or your dady, since it aint from my family album?

I think this poll really stiffles the debate for the best pistol. Glock win is indeed no surprise.

The superior pistol is indeed me. I've had many of people refer to me as quite the pistol. I'm reliable and cheap. Why I was not included in this poll is down right ego crushing. I have that one shot stop that all the mall ninjas and internet pistol experts speak of. I also look good in either stainless or blued finishes and rubber or cocobolo grips. In all seriousness though give me a Lorcin or a Jennings/Bryco anyday. I'll pistol whip you with the cast alloy junk metal frame when it fails to go off.

Walther products have always tripped my trigger. The Walther P88 and P88c may well be, ounce for ounce, the finest semi-auto handgun ever made. I've tried my share of Glocks and whatnot but keep coming back to the Walthers.

The only problem with Walthers is that they cannot handle +P ammo for long. They will KB now and then if not fed proper ammo. The only pistols that I know can handle any type of 9mm ammo are Glock and Sig.

However, that said, I do own P99 and P22, but that is for collection, escpecially the P22. I think P22 is the finest in the .22LR league.

You think a p22 is a better 22lr than a buckmark I guess everyone has their favorites though.

Oh but do remember that 75% is made up of small minorities. There is no single creditable opponent to the undisputed winner GLOCK!

Ok that was funny.

But on P22, I call it finest because of its size and number of rounds it holds. Buck may be great but it is just too big of an engine for 22lr.

i may be posting a little late in the game, but the Ruger p series is a great piece if cost/reliability are a factor. Mine(89dc) will fire any ammo i put thru it, including +p and +p+ rounds. Working on 6000+ rounds without a single jam or mis-feed. I also carry a Mauser HSc as a BUG.
