Looking for info on 8ga market gun....

Need some info on this:

8ga Market shotgun
Side by side -- 72" long barrels

Stamped on barrel: HARGUCHI
Proof mark on barrel next to name: Cresent moon w/ a five point star sitting in the cresent moon

Serial number: 27XX

It has scroll work on the receiver and on part of the barrels. Two triggers. Checkering on fore arm and butt stock. Lock box style. Blueing is mid 75 to low 80% level.

What kind of info is available? Who made it, this Harguchi??? How old is it? Any info on it will be appreciated.

Your description of the proofmark sounds like Spanish proof for breachloading (takes shells) black powder gun.....used after 1910. Lot of blackpowder cartridge guns floatin around.

Don't even think about shootin it untill checked out by a knowledgable gunsmith.
