Push a cleaning rod with a tight patch on it about 20 inches into the barrel. with a magic marker put a dot at 12 oclock and then draw the rod out untill the dot has rotated 360 degrees and put anothe dot in the same place you put the first one in relation to the action then measure the distance between the dots and that is your twist rate
