CZ VZ 50 detail strip

I know this is C&R, but hoping to get more responses in this forum. I 've had a CZ VZ 50 for quite some time. Most of the finish is worn off and I was thinking of trying a salt bluing project. I'm not really concerned of resell value because I consider it a cool historical plinker if nothing else, still need to shoot it though. Anybody have any resources about how to detail strip? Is it a royal pain if you've done it?
