I am not a lawyer, but this constitutional amendment looks like it could be used to ban all semi-auto long guns CAPABLE of holding 10 rounds.

Accused of using NRA scare tactics I will say BAWN is using EveryTown/MomsDemand scare tactics.

The group has gathered more than 99,000 certified signatures so far, enough to trigger an automatic legal review of the amendment by the state's highest court.

That's about 15% of the signatures they need to get it on the ballot. Getting it passed is another thing entirely.

"Regardless of your position on gun restrictions, this proposed ballot language is a trick," Moody spokesperson Lauren Schenone told POLITICO. "The drafters of this proposal have confused voters by creating a misleading definition of 'assault weapons' which would include a majority of the most popular hunting rifles and shotguns."

That's the problem with the term "assault weapon." Each state (and, in some states, each political entity below the state) is free to define "assault weapon" however they want. When the definition is fluid, there is no definition.
