"Emergency" Button
How about a method for immediately contacting at least one administrator to prevent the continued posting of nasty things like pornography.
The "report this post" button seems to be dependent on an administrator being online and available to respond. (I understand the admins are not omnipresent and that's OK) Might there be some way for an admin to be texted or called by "the system" to be sure that truly nasty things are removed immediately?

If you look at the bottom left of all the post you'll see a little red/white triangle...that's the report button...and I know which post you're refering to as I've reported it myself. :barf:
Sometimes, it there's not a mod on so it might take a little while though. |

If they're worried about abuse the new button could be designated to a few trusted posters who, collectively, are virtually always on and would notice these rotten things.

The "report this post" button will only alert the staph assigned to moderate that particular forum.
The next best thing, is to immediately go to the forum index and refresh the page. If any staph are online, PM them with the name of the thread and the forum it's located. Barring that, just PM any of the staph that you recognize as being online more often than others... You can PM more than one person at a time, just separate the names with a semi-colon, like this: Antipitas ; Mal H ; Bud Helms ; JohnKSa That way, whomever comes online first can take care of the problem. Yeah, that doesn't really solve the problem immediately, but it's the best we can do, sometimes. |
